Awards and Recognitions
AFJROTC cadets who have demonstrated outstanding performances and have reached the Cadet Awards and Decorations Program objectives are given awards or recognition for their achievements.
Best Drilled Individual (BDI)
Best Drilled Individual (BDI) is a competition for 1st year cadets, either as an incoming freshmen or being enrolled in their 1st year of AFJROTC. Flight Commanders nominate up to 5 cadets for this competition and under go instructions in order to prepare for this event. The cadet(s) that are chosen for BDI will be graded for their drill, uniform, military bearing and knowledge. The winner of BDI is awarded a certificate and also the superior performance ribbon.

Cadet of the Year
Cadet of the Year is an honorable award that is awarded to a cadet annually. the cadet being selected in April which will then present the award during Pass & Review. In order to be eligible for this reward, the cadet must be an upper class cadet as well as having been Cadet of the Month at least once during their time in AFJROTC. They are also required to have a GPA of 2.0 or above.
